During the I-Speak forum Thursday, November 28, at the City Hall, CTTMO head Dionisio Abude said this policy will take effect on January 1, 2020 based on City Ordinance No. 052-13, Series of 2013. The CTTMO will establish, mark, and designate portions of a thoroughfare as on-street public pay parking zones. CTTMO said pay parking shall start from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., from Monday to Saturday along seven streets, namely, San Pedro, Ilustre, Pelayo, Iñigo, Villa Abrille, Monteverde, and Duterte streets. DCWD’s production wells under the Panacan WSS will be affected by the Davao Light and Power Company’s power interruptions on said date needed to facilitate the reconstruction of their sub-transmission lines near Holcim Plant. With the power interruptions, the affected facilities will not be able to operate and produce water, and in turn, will not be able to supply water to the affected areas. DAVAO CITY WEATHER UPDATE : Magnitude 5.9 Earthquake Struck Off Davao City Oriental Province

Davao City - A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental Province last wednesday, dawn according to  the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The tremor hit at 4:03 a.m., some 127 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso town.   Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)  said it was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 114 kilometers. Intensity 4 was felt in Davao City and San Josefa, Agusan del Sur. Instrumental intensity 3 was recorded in Alabel, Sarangani while instrumental intensity 2 was reported in Davao City, General Santos City, Kiamba, Sarangani, Kidapawan City, Gingoog City, and Tupi, South Cotabato.

The Davao City government unveiled the “Gold Ribbon,” in support of the International Childhood Cancer Day on Monday. “Unlike in Davao, where many children are given the chance to have cancer treatment, in other areas, only a few can access (cancer) care. I know Davao City will stand for every kid with cancer coming all over Mindanao,” said Dr. Mae Concepcion Dolendo, head of the Children’s Cancer Center of the Children’s Cancer Center of the Department of Pediatrics of Southern Philippines Medical Center, who joined the unveiling ceremony. Dolendo added that Davao City has the largest pediatric cancer institute – not only in terms of facilities – but also in the number of oncologists and nurses who were trained abroad. In celebration of the National Civil Registration Month, the Davao City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) will be putting up centers in some malls for the entire month of February as part of the campaign for the timely registration of births and other civil document concerns. Assistant City Civil Registrar Juliet Gasatan said that inquiries on civil registrations will also be entertained at the centers. “For this week, we will be in SM Ecoland, next week we will be in Abreeza and then on the third week, we will be in SM Lanang,” said Gasatan.
