Davao City - A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental Province last wednesday, dawn according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tremor hit at 4:03 a.m., some 127 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso town.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 114 kilometers.
Intensity 4 was felt in Davao City and San Josefa, Agusan del Sur.
Instrumental intensity 3 was recorded in Alabel, Sarangani while instrumental intensity 2 was reported in Davao City, General Santos City, Kiamba, Sarangani, Kidapawan City, Gingoog City, and Tupi, South Cotabato.
