Davao City Jaywalkers Beware: Today, September 11, 2017 Anti-Jaywalking Ordinance Update, 5 na ang na issuehan ng citation tickets sa San Pedro area, Davao City dahilan sa hindi tamang pagtawid. This is according to Brigada News Davao Recent Update in their facebook page:

Davao City is strictly implementing the Anti-Jaywalking ordinance and will strictly implement issuing citation tickets this September.

The plan of the Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) is to issue citation tickets to violators fo the Anti-Jaywalking ordinance. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio urged the cooperation of the public adhere to the said ordinance.

"Magpadayon ang plano nga mag issue na ug citation ticket (The plan of on the issuance of citation ticket will continue). Let us just support our city traffic and management office" Duterte-Carpio told reporters during the Task Force Davao Change of Command Ceremony on Wednesday, August 30.

The initiative aims to intensify the implementation of traffic rules and regulations of the city and minimizes pedestrian accidents and traffic congestion as well as strengthen the provisions of the City Ordinance 778 also known as Comprehensive Transport and Traffic Code of Davao City, Philippines.

The Davao City government unveiled the “Gold Ribbon,” in support of the International Childhood Cancer Day on Monday. “Unlike in Davao, where many children are given the chance to have cancer treatment, in other areas, only a few can access (cancer) care. I know Davao City will stand for every kid with cancer coming all over Mindanao,” said Dr. Mae Concepcion Dolendo, head of the Children’s Cancer Center of the Children’s Cancer Center of the Department of Pediatrics of Southern Philippines Medical Center, who joined the unveiling ceremony. Dolendo added that Davao City has the largest pediatric cancer institute – not only in terms of facilities – but also in the number of oncologists and nurses who were trained abroad.
